SATIRE

A few years ago, Kirk Combe (Denison University) and I undertook collecting and editing a volume entitled Theorizing Satire: Essays in Literary Criticism, (St. Martins Press, 1995--still available!). In addition to co-authoring the introduction and editing the essays, my contribution was to be the compilation of a short bibliography of important works which offered definitions or theories of satire. That bibliography quickly grew too large for inclusion in the volume, and it now appears to be destined to be a full-volume work itself--when I get around to completing it. In the meantime, you’re invited to use Theorizing Satire: A Bibliography here. You are also invited to suggest, annotate, or correct citations.
